Thank you for the report. Here are some clarifying questions:

    • When you say that you lose settings, do you mean that the settings are removed and gone, or does White Label CMS still show your custom settings and they just have no effect until you uninstall Admin Menu Editor?
    • White Label CMS has a lot of settings. Does this conflict affect all of the settings, or just those that are related to the admin menu?
    • Could you please provide one or two specific examples of settings that are lost?

1= Regarding the first point, by “removed” I mean that they are there, but they do not produce effect until I uninstall or white label cms

2= this conflict only affects the administration menu.

3= for example on white label cms I have set that certain tabs (for example “media” and “settings”) are invisible for administrators, and this works, but if I change the name of any tab with your plugin automatically the two tabs that I had hidden come back visible and it is as if I had not set anything on white label.

I see, that makes sense. When you change any menu settings in Admin Menu Editor, it will apply the whole menu configuration – menu positions, permissions, etc – and not just the custom names. It can sometimes override changes made in other plugins. This depends on the order in which different plugins modify the admin menu during a page load.

In general, I would not recommend using multiple admin menu customization plugins at the same time. It can lead to conflicts like this one. If the plugins have different settings for the same menu items – for example, an item is visible in one plugin and hidden in another – one of the plugins will have to take precedence (because an item can’t be both visible and hidden), and the settings in the other plugin won’t work.

If you’d like to use Admin Menu Editor to edit the admin menu, please don’t use the admin menu settings in White Label CMS. Other White Label CMS settings should still work. Alternatively, if you prefer the menu configuration features of White Label CMS, please don’t edit the admin menu with AME.
