My site was set up a while ago using SiteOrigin Pagebuilder, but I just switched to Elementor and rebuilt just the home page. However, the product page is no longer working – I can’t add to cart, and the product gallery images don’t change.

    I’m using WP 6.1.1, Hello Elementor 2.6.1, WooCommerce 7.4.1.

The problem seems to be the theme – the product page works fine with Twenty Twenty but not with Hello. Can you help?

    Hi,

I think the problem is the second pagebuilder SiteOrigin, because the Hello theme is meant to only work with Elementor. Another pagebuilder is bound to create issues. Just deactivate SiteOrigin and see if the product page works again, please.

That said, it is never a good idea to use two different pagebuilders in one site, that is like a ship with two captains.

Thanks. I’m not using the SiteOrigin plugin at all now – I deactivated and deleted it once I’d rebuilt the home page. Sorry for not making that clear.

So I tried creating a new product (product 2, actually same as the old one, product 1, but with a different slug) to see if that made a difference. Didn’t see why it should, as it was created in WooCommerce rather than Elementor, but thought I would try.

At first I thought that had solved it because I could add product 2 to the cart and see all the images in the product gallery. But when I moved product 1 to the bin I had the same problems with product 2 – unable to move it to the cart etc. When I restored product 1 from the bin, product 2 started functioning again. So it seems to depend on whether there is a related product – when there is, it works, when there isn’t, it doesn’t.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the clarification.
So, when you change theme to Twenty Twenty it works just fine.

Strange, because the Hello theme is supposed to be THE theme for Elementor.
I have multiple shops with Elementor + OceanWP theme + Woocommerce, and no issues.
I do not use the Elementor Woo templates, I just use the default Woocommerce pages and all is fine.

Furthermore, I visited your shop, and looks like there is only one product.
The look and layout is not really different from the default Woocommerce one. Why not simply use the default Woocommerce I wonder?

Did you also try to disable all other plugins and just keep Woocommerce and Elementor active to troubleshoot?

    Hi,

The product is a default WooCommerce page, not an Elementor template. The only page that uses Elementor is the home page, because it’s a bit more complex.

I used Troubleshooter to disable all the plugins and reactivated them one by one – there was no conflict. It was only when I reactivated the Hello theme that the problem recurred – that was how I found out that the theme was the problem.

I’ve also tried changing the theme to Woo’s Storefront and it works fine. If I can’t solve this problem I think I’m going to have to change to the Storefront theme and redo the Elementor elements. ??

    Thanks for trying to help.

I see, or wait for actual Elementor support, if this really is a conflict, they should be able to fix that.

Good luck and have a great weekend!

    Thanks Annie – you too!

Since the issue is in the default woo commerce page, you can try to use our product archive template. You can try to update the Hello theme, Elementor, and WordPress again in the dashboard.

Thanks very much, but I’ve already switched to the Twenty Twenty theme and reformatted the home page in Elementor. Everything now works. I’m surprised that the default WooCommerce page didn’t seem to work with the Hello theme.

Yes, it looks like there is something in the Hello theme causing this, otherwise it would not work with another theme either.

Hello Theme is considered, working well with Woocommerce:

I’ve used Hello in the past and it has worked fine – just a problem with this site. ?? And as I said in a previous post in this thread, it was OK when there was more than one product – having a single product seems to be the problem!

Very strange, but if using another theme works, looks to me, you are good to go.
Personally, I prefer the OceanWP theme, it plays very well with Elementor and Woocommerce. I have 120+ websites and Woocommerce shops running with that combo.

    Best regards,
