    When I went to edit a page, there was no Visual Composer admin and nothing but a blank edit window.

    I deactivated every plugin associated with VC and reactivated them one at a time. The error was reproduced when I reactivated Add On Library, which I tested three times and always got the same result.

    It happends because some big json line of the editor could not be output. you need to turn to your server and tell them to update those settings:

    SubstituteMaxLineLength and LimitRequestBody

    it should fix the issue.

    I contacted SiteGround and requested they increase the Substitute Max Line Length from 5MB to 10MB and the issue went away.
