  • Hi tappingintodreams,

The email you sent tells me you’re using iContact.

By default, iContact will treat your sign-up forms as single opt-in, meaning that your subscribers will be added to your list right after they complete the form. Unless you create a “Confirmation Message”.

    To do so:

    1. Log in to your iContacts account.
    2. Click on Contacts in the navigation menu.
    3. Click on Sign-up Forms from the submenu options.
    4. Click on Add Message next to the form of your choice.
    5. Click on Create Text-Only Email if no confirmation messages are set up, otherwise click on Edit next to the confirmation message of your choice.
    6. You will see the Confirm Your Subscription email template. Edit it, and Save to enable double opt-in.
    7. Let me know if it helps.

Thanks for the instructions. However, I had already setup and saved a confirmation message, and I cannot see why it wasn’t being activated. I am now considering trying out AWeber instead.

    Hi tappingintodreams,

Nothing we can do, as it sounds like an issue on iContact’s end. You can either contact them for a solution, or try another email marketing service such as aWeber.

Hope you work it out, good luck!
