Confirmation of subscription

Does this plugin send a confirmation of subscription once a visitor/user subscribes?

I have not seen any evidence of this so far. It would be a really really good feature to have as an autoresponder to let people know they have successfully subscribed to categories.

Also the resend feature does not work for me and I’m having issues getting the emails sent out. Does this plugin work ok with WP Mail() or should I be looking into using a SMTP mail plugin to ensure the email does not bounce or go to junk.
