    Good day,

After testing to send application form I did not receive confirmation in my Gmail. However, the application was successful and the data is already stored in the back-end.

I tried to forgot password my admin account to troubleshoot, then I get error.
It says “The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function”

But when I contact the host they confirmed that the mail function is working properly. Any solution or suggestion for this?

    Thanks,
    Jan

  • Hi Jan,

Try logging into your host email account, see if any mails are being sent saying failure to send, spam warning, recipient error etc.

You may have to install an SMTP mail plugin such as this if you want to send to a gmail address.

You could try sending it to a non gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc address and see if it sends successfully first.

    Hi ritgo,

I tried to email using non-Gmail email account like outlook, but no email confirmation was sent.

I will request and try to login the host email account and check if mails are being sent.

I installed WP-Mail-SMTP plugin and send a test email but I got error “Authentication required”.

    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Jan

Most likely cause is your HOST is not allowing/blocking WP SMTP mail.

You may try one of the following plugins https://www.wp-jobmanager.com/recommended-plugins/

    wpMandrill or Postman.

    Hi Thomas,

I have already installed Postman and follow the setting’s instructions, I run a test email and it’s sending on my gmail. However, when I tried again using Job Manager Application form, I’m not still receiving email notification.

    Thanks and best Regards,
    Jan

Check Postman’s Email Log in the Tools menu. Do you see the email notification from Job Manager there?

    Hi Jason,

I have already checked the email log. I saw all the email status are sent.
But I’m not still receiving email notification from Job Manager on my gmail.

    Thanks,
    Jan

A user of mine just had this issue with gmail. See their solution:

Thanks for this Jason but I’m using old Gmail account. Same as my outlook account. It’s not receiving email notification. Is it possible the host mail function is disabled / blocked ?

Can you post the session transcript from a Job Manager email so we can have a look. Transcripts are in the Postman Email Log. Just find and remove the AUTH line before you post it to protect your password.

Looks perfect. I don’t see any reason you wouldn’t receive this. Probably co.nz thinks it is spam. Send it to yourself at gmail and see what spam score Gmail gives it (there’s an email header with that info)

    Hi Jason,

I already tested it again and no email even in my spam folder. Then I went to my application and I tried to email my gmail using the “share application” and I receiving confirmation.

    Any idea on this?

    Thanks and Regards,
    Jan

Gmail is weird animal. Jason’s plugin should do the trick however, if your still having issues you might try WP-mandrill

    Dear Thomas,
Even I am not getting Email Notifications when user is applying for Job from Front end.

Test email is going perfectly fine. Waiting for your reply.

    Thanks,
