Confirmation Dialog Not Displaying

  • When you hit “SEND” on my contact form after filling it out no confirmation dialog appears. The emails are being sent and received, just not confirmation dialog, so it’s not very user friendly. When I inspect the form, I found that every time I click SEND button, <div class=”ajax-error”>Unexpected token <</div> appears below the </form> tag. I’ve tried asking my theme support and they were no help. I’ve tried turning off all unnecessary plugins to see if it was a conflicting plugin, but it’s not.

    Try switching to the default theme (twentyfifteen).

    OK. I tried switching it to the twentyfifteen theme and when I fill out the Contact 7 form, a revolving icon appeared next to the SEND button, and it just stayed there turning, with no confirmation dialog. And because our website looks fantastic we would like to stay with the Onyx theme. Any other suggestions?

    The spinning arrow is a common symptom of a JavaScript conflict with either your current WordPress theme or one of the other plugins you are using. It can also be caused by a server-side warning or error. See Contact Form 7 Email Issues – there is a link there that covers JavaScript Conflicts.

    Try a Step by step approach to finding JavaScript Conflicts

    1. Switch temporarily to a WordPress default theme (Twenty Eleven etc.) and see if the problem goes away.

    If it does, you’ve most likely got a JavaScript conflict with your current WordPress theme.

    If switching to default theme doesn’t help it could be one of the plugins you are using that is causing the problem.

    2. Disable all plugins other than Contact Form 7

    If doing that solves the problem, you can then add back each item – one by one, until you find the real cause of the problem.
