So, when the admin or booking manager gets an email for a new reservation request, we can put a link in to either confirm or close/reject.

Is there a way to also have that confirm_link automatically send the confirmed notification email? Or the reject notification, for that matter?

I see where the status is changed when the link is followed, but I’m still new at this. I’m used to owning the code and making changes where I see fit, not add-ons and filters just yet.

    Thanks again for the help!

  • When the confirm or close/reject link is used, the notification emails should be sent automatically.

This will work as long as the initial booking request is going in with a pending status. The notifications are configured to fire off whenever the status is switched from pending_to_confirmed or pending_to_closed.

    I see.

This is what you get when you listen to users. I thought it was working, but someone “didn’t get the email”.
They did. Another was just on a network that blocks the email–but insists they are not and that we are not blacklisted. (But important to know and to check when it comes to email notifications.)

Yeah email is a nightmare because there are so many different ways delivery can fail, all along the delivery chain. I no longer even bother trying to run my own email and instead use a third-party sender, Mandrill.

I wrote a little something about solving email delivery problems with WP Mandrill if you’re interested.
