I am completely new for creating any kind of website, i started with wordpress. My plan is to have my blog accesible on “mydomain.com/blog”, so installed wordpress in a subdirectory. I want to show some welcome page as my home page, i.e on the url “mydomain.com”. Do not know how to achieve that. If i copy “.htaccess” and index.php in the root then the blog posts appear on the home page and that is not desired here.
Please suggest a quick work around.
    Thanks

  • You seem to be on the right track as long as you followed the directions for installing WordPress in a sub-directory in the WordPress codex.

Go to “Reading Settings” under “Settings” and change “Front Page:” to your desired home page and “Posts Page:” to your blog.

If you set up everything else correctly, that should do it.
