Configure list

  • Hi!

    I was trying to add a new field I made to a list, but now it’s impossible to get all the old fields to remain in the list when I click on “Configure this list”. The numbers in “Display order” are gone, and when I try to enter them again and click on “Update field settings”, the numbers just disappear. The only field I am able to enter a number for is the new field I made.

    Is this a bug which has been introduced in one of the later updates? It’s a year since the last time I tried to configure a user list, and I had no problems then.

    No one else reporting such a weird bug and no major bugs known at the moment.

    Sounds like your setup is ‘stuffed’ – to use a technical term that my swedish mother-in-law knowledgably passed on to the repair man on the phone after asking her sons what was wrong with some equipment.

    So are you up to date plugin wise?
    Has your data changed ?
    Any chance of ‘memory’ issues (due to huge volume of data or fields)?

    Quickest fix may be to
    1) make a note of your current setup
    2) make sure all plugins and addons up to date then,
    2.5) try ‘exporting’ the list settings – make not help if settings messed up, but you can try importing after resetting and finding fields.
    3) goto the settings page where it offers a ‘reset all options’ click that
    4) start building up lists again with ‘find fields’
    5) assigning fields to display orders
    etc
