Configure list

Hi!
I was trying to add a new field I made to a list, but now it’s impossible to get all the old fields to remain in the list when I click on “Configure this list”. The numbers in “Display order” are gone, and when I try to enter them again and click on “Update field settings”, the numbers just disappear. The only field I am able to enter a number for is the new field I made.
Is this a bug which has been introduced in one of the later updates? It’s a year since the last time I tried to configure a user list, and I had no problems then.
