• I’m new to WordPress and am trying to select a plug-in for chat. This one is well-used and highly rated with a good history of support and releases – all great. Any advice on:
    1) whether it would be easy to configure Chat Now buttons on a few places on the site, require users to provide name and email before they entered the chat, and have a group of 1 – 3 staff notified someone wants help and allow them to connect, and
    2) whether the code is GPL, since I want to modify the plugin so it archives every chat transcript in CiviCRM (this code will also be open source, either GPL or AGPL).

    Never used the plugin myself but I’ll take a swing at this item.

    All plugin code in the WordPress repository are licensed GPL v2 or later. Check the plugin’s readme.txt to clarify. Any modifications to that would must retain the same license.
