• Hello.

dumpthis.ca is one of the websites that I have developed and manage. I have WordFence installed. A recent list of warnings came up, as they usually do on my sites thanks to WordFence.

I asked it to id those to be deleted and those to be fixed and followed through respectively. I have yet to have an issue with the steps required to remove and deal with threats, update messages, etc.

    This time, I was re-routed to a new screen – https://dumpthis.ca/wp-admin/setup-config.php

I don’t want to touch it as I am not sure what will happen after the next steps. Please tell me that I have not lost my site. Can you please direct me.

    Thank you!!

    Sarah

  • Hello,
since I do not know what files you have deleted it’s hard to say but it sounds like you may have deleted your WordPress config file. I would suggest you restore the site from a backup. Your database is likely untouched so another option is to restore the WordPress config file manually. To do this you would need to know your database credentials. You can find more information about wp-config.php here.

When you run the scan again before you delete anything, make sure that you are not deleting any core WordPress files. If you are continuously getting warnings about files it probably means your site is infected in which case you should get the site properly cleaned.

I hope you are able to sort it out, best of luck.
