Conference Speaker plugin

Hi Folks. I’ve spent a few days looking for a plugin.

I’m helping to build an App for a non-profit conference.

I’d like to be able to post events, with specific locations/rooms.

I’d like a single view of all the events on that day, with links to the full event (post), but also categories.

I’ve seen a few that come close but very few have “rooms” as an actual field, only Venue – and of course, at a conference everything is at the same venue. I did try just misusing venue for ‘room’ but that’s not really what I need (short of modifying/forking a plugin).

For example, I want to sort by location/floor/room so that someone can find out things that are happening nearby; as well as categories (like “VR” or “Demo” or “Interactive”).

A lot of that I can do with tags/categories, but it’s the location (Floor or Room) that seems to be missing.

Also, “Build my schedule” and a “Favorites” key would be fantastic. We expect several thousand people at this venue, so the DB has to perform if people start doing the favorites, but I may be able to handle this on the App instead. I’d download the event data as a JSON file and parse that in Unity.

I’m using WordPress to BUILD the schedule, and then a custom Augmented Reality app to show directions and floating arrows to point where selected / favorited items are, and reminders when the event is coming. (it’s also using indoor localization so that if a friend is near it’ll buzz, although this is a nice to have feature I’m building in later. No one has done this quite yet with AR).

Any ideas? Time is a bit crunched and would love to get something off the shelf.
