is_paged()

is_paged() seems doesn’t work, any idea why??

If is_paged doesn’t do what you want, you could try an if/else with the $paged variable:

<?php if ( $paged < 2 ) { ?>
Text for the first page.

<?php } else { ?>
Text for subsequent pages.

<?php } ?>
