Conditional message/shortcode based on owned product?

Looking for a solution to insert a simple message on a page (the account page for instance) if a user owns a certain product

This is for a digital store where updates or new released versions may be available and what I would like to be able to do is when the user visits their account page, have messages I can insert on the page using maybe simple shortcode which is only displayed if the user owns a product for that message. This would allow me to post a note saying an update for their product is available etc.

Is there any simple solution for this, I have looked at many conditional based plugins and code but nothing seems to do what I hope.
