Conditional field to show a repeating field does not work

I have a conditional field wherein user inputs a number. Repeating fields should be shown based on the number entered in the conditional field. As a workaround, I added a “Add field” button. But this is not the ideal case. I need the conditional field to work properly and show the repeating fields based on the number entered. Can anyone help? thanks in advance.
