Hello Clayton! Potential new user with some questions here.

I recently stumbled upon this plugin after seeing the reviews (currently using Woocommerce’s Stripe Payment Gateway plugin which got overwhelmingly bad reviews). Recently I notice increase in 3DS failure and card decline from customers making me wonder if it’s plugin related issue so I’m considering a switch to this plugin.

After few testing it seems that this plugin require users to connect via Stripe Connect, so I have few concerns that need to be answered before I started using (Since Stripe Connect Doc has the most vague wording ever)

    1. Since I already have been using Stripe before, will my account be considered Stripe Standard connected user or something else?

    2. I read on Stripe Connect documentation that Connect owners on top of taking partnered affiliate cuts from Stripe, they are also allowed to charge “application fee” per transaction from connected users, is there any guarantee this I won’t be charged any extra hidden fees in the future?

    3. How much control you have over our connected accounts, e.g. can you secretly boot us out without any warnings, do you have control over our payouts or disputes, control over our dashboards, etc. ?

    4. I reckon this platform use Direct Charge (e.g. we can use our radar rules) only right?

    5. Lastly, what would you say is the biggest strength this plugin has over Woocommerce’s Stripe Payment Gateway plugin besides customization (Don’t be afraid to over advertise :D). My goal is to reduce payment failures potentially caused by error or bug I’m not aware of.

    Hi @trinituz,

    1. Yes, your existing account will be a Stripe Standard account. You will be able to use your existing Stripe account.
    2. While it is possible for a Connect platform to charge an application fee, that is not how our plugin works, nor will it ever work that way. In order for a plugin to be hosted on www.remarpro.com, it must be completely free, there are no exceptions to that rule. That’s also part of our contractual partnership with Stripe.
    3. No, we don’t have control over your payouts or your disputes nor would we want to. We cannot boot you from Stripe’s platform. We can see things like log entries which Stripe stores in their database. That aids tremendously in troubleshooting payment failures.
    4. Yes, that’s correct. All API requests made to Stripe are done so using your API keys.
    5. I would be more comfortable answering that question via a support ticket, which you can create here. https://paymentplugins.com/contact-us/

    Kind Regards
