    Hi Rhys,

I’m considering using this plugin and am hoping you can provide a little bit more info for me.

The plugin looks like it would be really good, but I’m wondering whether the length of the tweet is taken into account. I clicked on an inline tweet on your website (on the article I commented on a little earlier), and the quote appeared with a shortened link, but the @handle was cut out — “via” was visible, followed by an ellipsis and the shortlink.

So my question is whether @handles and links are calculated in the tweet length, and what the plugin does to ensure that the quote doesn’t exceed the character limit. It seems strange to waste three characters on an ellipsis when the handle is too long — I think it would be better to calculate the handle as part of the tweet and shorten the quote…

Thanks for clarifying this for me!!

    Hi Julie,

I think I get what you’re saying. The twitter sting is mesasured by the prefix (or RT @….), text & suffix. If it’s more than 116 characters, then it’s shrunk.

i guess I should program a way that allows you to choose a little more control. Let me think how….

Thanks ?? I guess in the meantime I’ll just have to check the length manually… Cheers!
