FYI. You can visit the url of the website where this is installed at https://faithoutdoorz.com – if for some reason you would need a login, please let me know.

    Hi,

Thanks for your question! I will be looking into this and get back to you shortly.

In the meantime, I reset your API key, as it was visible on your screenshot. You can get your new key on your API dashboard: https://tinypng.com/developers

Hello, Thanks for the reply and thanks resetting my API Key. That was a bonehead move huh?

Here’s a quick update… I tried uploading through the Blog Post Editor using the Featured Image field, and that was about 43 minutes ago. Looking in the media library, it looks like it was perhaps sent to the server for compressing, but clearly, as seen in this screenshot, I’m thinking it should take 43 minutes to compress a 4 MB file. Here’s the screenshot: https://www.evernote.com/l/AFqpHRb6r3VA27ZAe7OnAVMJq9XOpjSvOJw

Thanks again and look forward to getting this resolved.

    Hi,

The plugin is currently not supporting BB Press. The issue is probably caused by the fact only administrators are able to compress images with the plugin, which may not be the case when uploading images from your site public site (instead of the admin panel). I will add your request to our list of future improvements.
An alternative for this is to compress the images periodically from the admin panel, using the Compress All Images page in the Tools menu.

However, when uploading an image as a featured image, the plugin should compress the image correctly. Because I can’t reproduce this behaviour, is it provide us access to your installation? You can send an email to [email protected] to share the credentials.

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,

Any update on this issue? Is it still saying “Compressing 3 sizes…”?

    Hi,

There is still one image in the media library that is showing “Compressing 3 sizes” and has been hung since I originally opened this request.

However, I have uploaded several additional photos from the admin interface for the website and it seems to be working correctly now.

So, the reason that the photos weren’t being compressed previously is the lack of bbpress support. Not a big deal. This is a fairly new site and as you mentioned, I can go in periodically and make a request for compressing images that have been uploaded.

If it’s possible to get the BBPress integration on the radar that would be good. Who knows how this forum will do, but it’s based around being outdoors and the site owner definitely wants to encourage people to share their photos as well. As such, I’ve set a rather large photo size maximum of 4 MB since most folks are taking sizable photos with digital cameras and/or smart phones. So, as you can imagine, if at some point, hundreds or even thousands of users per day end up uploading photos, that could cause a problem real quick.

I’ve already talked with the site owner about offloading photos to Amazon Storage or some other online service so that their website hosting storage doesn’t get over run quickly, but at the end of the day, it would still be nice to be able to compress member images uploaded through the forums in order to minimize costs long-term.

Let me know when you guys get the BBPress integration working.

    Thanks!
