The “Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors” toggle will not stay turned on and I get the message Zlib Output Compression Enabled! even though it is disabled in the MultiPHP INI Editor on my server and in the cPanel. There is no other caching program installed and Compressed Content is disabled under Optimize Website in the cPanel. Please advise!!!

  • Hi there,

There may be something else installed on the site that’s causing problems.

The best way to find out if something is interfering is to test for a theme or plugin conflict. You can do that by following these steps:

    1. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except Jetpack, and clear your browser’s cache.
    2. You can reactivate plugins one by one, checking after each one to discover which plugin is causing the problem.
    3. You can leave that plugin deactivated and/or contact whoever makes that plugin for help resolving the issue it’s causing.

If deactivating plugins doesn’t help, it may be your theme.

    1. Temporarily activate a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One.
    2. Then, try again. If the problem is fixed then you know it’s a problem with the theme. You can contact whoever makes the theme for help resolving the issue it’s causing.

You can see these theme troubleshooting steps in detail in our Troubleshooting manually guide.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hello @dstamos,

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
