Compress new images in the background is not working

    Hi,

    I have selected “Compress new images in the background (Recommended)”
    However, the plugin just tries to optimize each image on upload instead of letting the upload finish and then try to optimize at a later point.

    It basically behaves exactly as if I selected “Compress new images during upload”.

    WP 5.2.1 and Compress JPEG & PNG images 3.2.0

    Hi Taropaa,

    Some plugins are not compatible with the background compression settings. Mainly plugins that remove the originals after uploading interfere with it. An example is the WP offload to S3 plugin.

    Do you have this plugin or something similar installed? If so, your best option is to leave the option at “Compress new images during upload”.
