    Hey there

    I use Google reCaptcha V2 with WP Forms
    In the Complianz settings in section Services I have enabled Google reCaptcha and WPForm and selected “block until accepted”.

    Still: reCAPTCHA cookies got through on first load, without consent.

    Next I found out that reCAPTCHA cookies were classified as functional and thought that that might be the problem (my data protection officer sure doesn’t agree!) and reclassified them as “Marketing/Tracking”. Unfortunately that didn’t help either.

    I read your article about integrating WP Forms but found no clue…

    Any ideas?

    Hi @nils235,

    WPForms – ReCaptcha v3

    I have configured a test environment with the latest Complianz version and WPForms with ReCaptcha v3, and implemented the exact steps as listed in the article.

    This results in a Contact Form where ReCaptcha is blocked before obtaining consent, and where ReCaptcha can be loaded by clicking the button in the form. You can see my example here:

    If you provide an URL to your website, that will allow us to check what the difference might be.

    Cookie Policy

    Upon selecting that your website uses Google ReCaptcha under Wizard > Consent > Services and performing another “Sync with CookieDatabase” under Wizard > Consent > Cookie Descriptions, the service should be categorized as shown in the below screenshot.

    thanks for your reply! The site is https://von-elbstein.de/

    My form looks just like that, and I think it should work, but reCAPTCHA just keeps on getting preloaded ??

    Is there anything you can see from the outside?

    Hi @nils235,

    Could you give this a try with the V3 ReCaptcha in WPForms? That seems to be the main difference between our environments.

    Hey Jarno,

    v3 was what I tried first, I only switched to v2 to rule out that that was the issue. Now it’s v3 again and the problem remains…

    Edit before posting: I deactivated a couple of unused plugins, now it works. They appeared to be totally unrelated (e.g. Jetpack), but still: it now works works! Thanks for your assistance!
