    Hi,

I followed https://complianz.io/definitive-guide-to-tag-manager-and-complianz/ to setup complianZ with Tag Manager but it doesn’t work and I don’t understand why. Can you help ?
I use complianZ_event_0 for statistic and complianZ_event_marketing for Facebook pixel. I setup a functional event (complianZ_event_functional) and Social one (complianz_event_1). But none of them are triggered, why ?

And what custom HTML tag should I put with the functional event ? I put Google tag manager in the statistic one and facebook pixel in the marketing one.

Thank you for you help !

    Hi @sybilrondeau,

The events you mentioned are correctly being sent by the plugin when you click the “Accept All” button in the banner.

Let’s say you have the Facebook Pixel that you want to load once the user consents to Marketing. You would have to configure the below in GTM:
    – The “cmplz_event_marketing” trigger

    – Create a new tag named “Facebook Pixel”, with Tag type “Custom HTML”. The FB Pixel code should be copied to that HTML field.
    – Set the Trigger for this tag to the “cmplz_event_marketing” trigger that you created earlier.

Hope it helps, just let me know.
    Kind regards,

    Hi

Thank you for your help !

I can see the event are fired in the console, but I can’t see the Facebook Pixel or the google tag manager when I inspect the code after accepting all cookies.
And before accepting cookies, I can see two async scripts about analytics at the beginning of the <head>.
That is not how it should be right ?

What’s more, in Tag Manager there was a google analytics tag (universal Analytics) previously (before I use complianZ), with “all pages” trigger. Should I delete it ?

    Hi @sybilrondeau,

As you state to have a Google Analytics tag in your GTM container that fires on “All Pages”, and not on a Complianz event such as “cmplz_event_statistics”, I would indeed expect the Analytics script to be set prior to consent.

I do not see the Facebook Pixel being fired on this site. Perhaps you can let us know how you’ve configured this in GTM, so we can have a look at the settings.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi

So I deleted the tag “all pages” Google Analytics. Now Google Analytics is set up with custom HTML (google tag manager script) and statistics trigger. (custom event complianZ_event_0 – event equals complianZ_event_0).

Same for facebook pixel… (custom HTML with facebook pixel script) and marketing trigger (complianZ_event_marketing).

I don’t know how I can share images here to show you exactly…

    Hi @sybilrondeau,

Just to clarify: The type of tag you fire (Custom HTML, Analytics configuration, something else) doesn’t really matter, as long as you attach the correct Complianz event to trigger it.

You can reach out to us by e-mail: support(at)complianz.io, to attach some screenshots of your setup and I will gladly take a look.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @sybilrondeau & community,

This has been resolved through our support e-mail, the tags in this GTM container did not fire because of a typo in the trigger setup.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about this.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
