Following up on a previous review, where I was suggested to open a support topic to go over the mentioned issues:

My first mention will go towards the lack of your own support forum, where we can add images like screenshots and evidence of the problems being faced, while here one has to upload images to third party services or alike. The WordPress forum is quite mediocre in features and the reliance on it is uncanny.

With a licensed Burst Statistics, when running the Wizard and if you select the Burst Statistics option – which would look obvious if you’re using the licensed product:

But when you hit “Save and Continue”

    You get asked for “Matomo”.

Secondly there’s the Google Consent v2. Well, if this plugin doesn’t give the v2 consent for users of the free version, what exactly is the point of this plugin, when this is now mandatory and required for Google Services? Google services ARE the services any site will be using, not other services 1 in 10K users will use.

Still on Consent Mode v2, we’ve gone over this: https://complianz.io/consent-mode-for-7-0/ and, while we have Google Site Kit installed, connected with all the supported services and working perfectly, I have no idea where to find the options we’re presented on this page for site kit. I don’t see any “site kit integration”, I don’t see any url_passtrough or similar, and so on. Documentation is not clear, concise or to the point, actually having SiteKit and TagManager, and considering Complianz appears to only add complications, why would one go and PAY for Complianz instead of just using Google Tag Manager?

And finally I will leave a final comment regarding Really Simple Plugins the company itself:

    1. The plugins aren’t really simple, as presented above.
    2. One isn’t customer of Really Simple Plugins, is customer of the plugin, and we consider this a strange and unreliable practice.
    3. The division between products and lack of central identity/ membership causes for different websites for each product, separate profiles, so with this company you will not find One Company Website, with One Support Forum with Categories for each product for members and to build a solid community. It’s reliant on third party forums, where community is kept apart, etc. It’s a complete mess.

Hoping for a actual explanation on the statistics part, and on the google consent v2 with site kit. Thank you

    Hi @maverickws,

Support for the Free plugin is handled on the WordPress Forums, whereas Premium users can refer to the form located here to open a ticket with us outside of these forums: https://complianz.io/support/

It seems that the string “Yes, with Matomo” is somehow being replaced with a text concerning Burst Statistics in your case. I’ll have to look into the exact reason why that might be able to occur, but for now, the important thing is that this text in the setting that you’ve selected in the screenshot is not correct and should not appear here.

The actual option that you’ve selected in the screenshot is “Yes, with Matomo”, but the text is simply mixed up with a text relating to Burst Statistics. Burst Statistics will be configured automatically and you don’t have to select a specific option for this to work.

As Consent Mode is a Premium feature, which includes the combination of Consent Mode + Site Kit + Complianz that you mentioned, these Consent Mode specific settings will not appear for you when using the Free plugin.

Hope this helps/clarifies, let me know if you have further questions.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Hi Jarno, thank you for your reply.

In regard to the “Premium users can (…) with us outside of these forums”, I already mentioned the poor implementation of support and identity for your customers. Moving on.

To finalise I will just leave one simple question then, considering that “Consent Mode V2 is needed to leverage the modeling under the new guidelines, and when not used can cause substantial data loss after March 2024”, what exactly is the point of anyone not premium to use this plugin? What do you feel that the free version of the plugin brings to customers that would create interest in using it or recommending it to anyone? Is the prospect of substancial data loss after March 2024 ?

    Thank you.

    Hi @maverickws,

The Free plugin would still be able to assist you with the creation of a compliant WordPress website, e.g. by allowing you to block & obtaining consent for services/plugins and their cookies; and the generation of a tailored Cookie Policy for your website.

Please also note that Consent Mode support has been a part of the Premium version of Complianz even before V2 (and Google’s requirement to apply it) was announced.

Let me know if you have any further questions about the plugin.

    Kind regards, Jarno
