Complianz is not connecting with Tag Manager/Analytics

    Hello,

    I’ve run into a problem setting Complianz with Tag Manager on a multisite.

    When I was first setting Complianz up and connecting Tag Manager (through the guide), Tag Manager showed up in the cookie scan. But then there was a problem with a domain and the website was out of order for some time. Since then the Tag Manager/Analytics refuses to work.

    I’ve tried reinstalling Complianz, Tag Manager, and Analytics and purging caches but nothing worked. Tags are set up correctly. From the log, Complianz thinks Tag Manager is connected but Analytics does not see the web at all.

    The website is part of a multisite I don’t know if that might be relevant to the problem.

    I am at the end of my rope and I don’t know what else to try. Please help me.

    Hi @eliskapetru,

    This may indeed be due to the multisite set-up and the Firing Trigger that you’re currently using for the Analytics tag in Tag Manager.

    I suspect that you’re currently firing Analytics on the Custom Event cmplz_event_statistics (screenshot), which is correct on non-multisite installations, but this event is called cmplz_rt_event_statistics in your case.

    Please navigate to Triggers > New > Trigger Type > “Custom Event” and copy the below trigger setup. I called this trigger Statistics (RT).

    And then navigate back to Tags, click your Google Analytics tag and add an additional firing trigger. Select the trigger that you just created in the previous step.

    This will leave you with the above Firing Triggers (cmplz_event_statistics and cmplz_rt_event_statistics) for your Analytics tag, so that the tag will fire when either one of these is emitted.

    Hi @eliskapetru,

    Did the above answer help you resolve the described behavior?

    I would like to add that the _rt_ prefix will no longer be added after an upcoming version of the Complianz plugin, so at that point, adding the OR condition with the _rt_ version of the event won’t be necessary anymore.
