• Plugin completely ignored all media files in the project after reporting that it was ready to go and compatible with all of my databases. Completely hosed the site requiring a database restore.

User has long history of abuse and harassment toward plugin developers.

    Developers beware.

    That is simply not true.

I don’t know the history about @ssteiner but I had the same problem but I know why it happened to me so maybe it’s the same reason. You cannot have the domain ending with a forward slash.

    e.g.
    Don’t do:
    https://beta.example.com/ to https://www.example.com/

    Do this instead:
    https://beta.example.com to https://www.example.com

Hopefully this clears it up for anyone having the same problem who runs into this review.

    Cheers!

The history is that I’ve been a member of the WordPress community for a very long time having registered on February 28th, 2009. I’ve raised issues with 2 developers in all that time. @mat-lipe didn’t like it when I reported an issue with his plugin so he accused me of harassing developers, then revoked my access to his product for which I had just paid and lied to PayPal to prevent them from reversing the charge.

Not sure about the trailing slash, at this point its irrelevant since I no longer have access to this product as noted above.

Hopefully this will help someone else.

Wow, I really can’t believe that you are still trying to convince people that you are a victim. Don’t you get it that people talk to each other in this community?

When someone like you is so rude and hostile that personal (developer) friends of mine has considered quitting the community, it tends to stick in peoples minds.

It baffles me that you even mention having access to a product that you said was a horrible piece of garbage use to scam and destroy people sites. 50,000 satisfied users and you publicly accuse me of fraud.

There is something greater here that you don’t understand. This is a community. This is a place for people to come together and share work, ideas, plugins, themes. We work together. We donate thousands of hours to building free software for people like you (who contribute nothing) to use.

When you send 14 emails in under an hour at 3 am, file a claim in under 3 hours, then publicly attack that same person, all the while accusing them of fraud, scams, garbage software, lying, stealing, etc, it tends to send a message of negativity. This type of negativity tends to make you lose allies. But don’t take my word for it, you lost your claim with PayPal because of your behavior.

It is time for you to let it go. Time to start respecting all the great developers of this community who create such great things for you. Time to treat people with kindness. Time to find the love for the community that the rest have found. Time to start giving back (I’m sure you have some great ideas for plugins that you can develop and give away for free). Show us that you are not always out to hurt developers and maybe we will remove you from our blocked users lists.

    > file a claim in under 3 hours,

Gee, I wish you’d said that to PayPal instead of saying I’d had weeks to figure out whether it worked and accusing me of trying to steal your software and begging them not to process a refund.

I could dig up the message you sent, if you’d like.

@ssteiner When I said I don’t know about your history, I honestly meant I don’t want to get pulled into the situation and that my response was NOT in regards to your actions. I’m here to help support the WordPress community in anyway I can. If you would like to do the same then I suggest you do so otherwise accept what happened, maybe take it up with www.remarpro.com or get a lawyer if you’re concerned you got ripped off. I’m sure none of those options will be worth what you paid for this plugin in neither time nor money however. Regardless of if you had a poor experience, at least be respectfully upset, yet professional about the matter at minimum and handle it accordingly.

@mat-lipe I’m sure he won’t alter the decision of many people (at least me). Your support has been great and the plugin does the trick with a lifetime of updates. Thank you for your time.
