Completely gray screen when trying to edit post/page

  • Hello, When I go in to my pages / posts and I click on the title to edit the contents, it just pulls up a completely grey screen. I can’t see anything at all. Everything on the front end seems to be working fine, but I just can’t edit it pages / posts. I’m pretty certain that everything that should be updated is, I’m really not sure what to look at to fix it.

    Try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    I have the same. On Saturday no problem at all, Sunday I had a day without a comp, today I can’t edit any page. Front-end ok.

    Doing the test with switching off plugins.

    CHanging theme didn’t bring any solution, so it is not that. Contacted server provider – it is not them.

    Frustrating.

    Side note to @jwlalos,

    Please do not jump into other topics. If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.

    @jwlalos Same situation. I was using it just fine a few days ago and today this.

    Please do let me know if you have any luck! I will be troubleshooting here soon.

    OK, I have solution – I switched off Divi Builder (Elegant themes) update (I did it today in the morning, as it popped out as a plugin to be updated).

    It came with the StyleShop package, I do not need it.

    Problem if it is your main builder…

    I report it to Elegant Themes, as it is a serious and frustrating bug.
