Complete Novice – Need Help

  • Hi All.

    I’m a complete novice when it comes to WordPress. I’ve not used it before and I really don’t know where to start and so I was hoping someone could help.

    I already have a domain name and a website hosted with Weebly.

    Is there any way that I can create a WordPress blog with the same primary domain as my website for example:

    https://www.mysite.com – my website
    https://www.mysite.com/blog – my wordpress blog

    Is this possible and if so, do you know how I can do this?

    I’d really appreciate any help ??

    I just did a little Googling and I tend to think that cannot be done, but that *might* be dependent upon your hosting provider or maybe I am even wrong altogether. Weebly is a site builder than can run on the servers at just about any host where WordPress could also be an option, but that does not necessarily mean the two can run side-by-side. So, the best thing for you to do would be to talk with your specific host and ask whether WordPress can be run as a sub-domain at your account where Weebly is primary.

    edit: I think I actually do recall that being possible at BlueHost, but then the Weebly Dashboard can only be accessed via full cPanel admin and I consider that a huge security risk.
