Complete garbage!

  • I thought Disqus was a legit firm until I tried this dreadful plugin.

    One site I just tried it on has about 25,000 posts and the stupidly designed import comments feature hammers the server and never completes, there is no rate limiting and no sensible design in this plugin.

    It doesn’t even attempt to figure out with a simple database query which posts to prioritize and import first, useless!

    Whoever wrote the plugin at Disqus should be fired, they need new people on it.

  • This is a problem I’ve seen with many WordPress plugins; the devs just don’t consider the possibility of large data sets. That sort of hammering is particularly an issue on cloud servers.

    Of course, it doesn’t help that WordPress uses such a sub-optimal database schema – by design, to be as generic and robust as possible.
