    Hi,

My friend ran a website performance and got some results. It suggests that some images should be converted to the formats such as WebP for better compression. The site already installed Smush. We know that Smush Pro does have WebP conversion option, however, my friend want to consider other options before upgrading. Our question is that do we need to remove Smush before installing WebP Converter for Media plugin or is it safe to leave it?

    Many thanks in advanced.

    Hello @anxiousduck,

    Thanks for your message.

Generally, using two plugins to compress images is not good. When Smush modifies the original files and then converts them to WebP, you will lose some quality, because its plugin will use the already converted files.

Today, all new browsers support WebP, so WebP is enough to reduce the weight of a website.

    Best,
    Mateusz
