Using Plesk WP Toolkit to manage updates, bit it’s lacking an auto translations-updater.

So I would like to use this plugin to also have the translation updates automated.

Do I have to disable all the Plesk update-settings, or can the plugin run next to the Plesk updaters?

  • Hi

    Apologies for the delay,

Are you asking about the compatibility because this is your first time installing Easy Updates Manager?, if so, we recommend you turn on all the Plesk settings that you think you will get benefit from it but turn off the others for things that Easy Updates Manager can handle.

    Thanks

Hi thanks, yes I am testing it for the first time. On a couple of sites. On the Plesk sites I got a notification from easy updates manager after install above in the settings page, and was wondering if that has something to do with the Plesk settings. I checked all updates in Plesk to be automatic updated. Sry that I don’t have a screenshot, forgot to make it and clicked the notification to close ??

But if it’s compatible with Plesk auto-update settings and Litespeed servers all is good ??

    Hi,

We haven’t got a chance to test and to see whether they’re compatible or not, but I think if you just want all updates to be automatic updated and you have them set so on Plesk and EUM then I think you won’t encounter any issue.

    Thanks

Okay, great. Will keep on testing and implementing it over multiple sites in the coming weeks. Thanks for your response.

Hi, one more little thing: I now do have the notification. What is says is:

“The following constants are set and will prevent automatic updates in Easy Updates Manager.

Please check your wp-config.php file or other files for these constants and remove them to allow Easy Updates Manager to have control.

    • DISABLE_WP_CRON: This constant prevents automatic updates scheduled tasks from being run within WordPress internal cron. Typically, when enabled, automatic updates events are checked on every page load and any events due to run will be called during that page load. However, if it’s intentionally being set because you use external cron (server cron) then you can ignore this warning.”

But my wp-config file holds no information.

    Hi,

If you can’t find the DISABLE_WP_CRON constant in your wp-config.php file, it might be found somewhere else such as in an mu-plugin file or in a file belongs to other plugins. However, if you find your plugins/themes get updated automatically, there’s no need to be concerned about the notification because you might have used external cron (server cron) which will visit/access your site at a specific period/interval of time.

    Thanks
