    Hi there,
I have added a second language to my website using the Polylang Plugin, and have previously used Custom Permalinks-Plugin which hat serious bugs when working together with Polylang. So now that I have tried this plugin, it works better, but still has one issue.
My URL-Structure is example.com/en/ for my english website. When I add a new english page in WP-Admin, and enter into the Permalinks-Customizer-Field “about/”, I would expect the page to appear under example.com/en/about/, as I am editing an english page which can only be under /en/. But when I do that, the link that is generated in my menu on my homepage is correct (https://www.example.com/en/about/), yet when I click on it WP redirects me to https://www.example.com/about/ and gives a 404-Error. When I then go back to WP-Admin and enter “en/about/” into the Permalink-Field, the menu generates a link to https://www.example.com/en/en/about/, and upon click WP redirects to https://www.example.com/en/about/ and shows the page.

The expected behavior would be, that the Permalink-Field shows “https://www.example.com/en/” as the grey, uneditable text and adds the en automatically to every english page. Would that be possible?
    Thanks a lot,
    Vincens von Bibra

Hi Vincens von Bibra, How are you doing?

Actually, you are getting the en 2 times due to the polylang plugin. As polylang appends the en in the url so, if you add the en in the url by yourself or would show it in grey(uneditable) in both of these situation you got the en twice.

But, on twice en would work for you and shows the page as your said but if you won’t apply the en in the url so the page won’t work.

    Thanks,
    Sami

    Hi Sami,
thanks for the response. My question though is, can you make it that I don′t have to apply the /en/ manually and it will still work? That would be the bugfix, and it would make this plugin so much better.

    Thanks,
    Vincens

    Hi vincens,

I have one question that what settings you are using for creating the permalink. Can you please share your settings with me or a screenshot of your settings.

    Thanks,
    Sami

    Hi Sami,

sure I can. It′s pretty basic, I just used the /postname/-Setting. In the permalink-Plugin I left all fields empty.

    Thank You!
