Hey @zotezo, thanks for your interest in Jetpack Boost!

No, you don’t need the main Jetpack plugin installed to use Jetpack Boost. The only thing you need is a (free) WordPress.com account to connect to.

I have run some tests with running Jetpack Boost and WP Rocket together, and haven’t found any significant issues.

Both plugins offer options to turn specific optimizations on and off, and some of the same optimizations are available in both plugins. I don’t recommend having the same optimization enabled in both plugins, as it is unlikely to benefit your site and may cause unexpected issues.

For example, I recommend against using Jetpack Boost’s “Defer Non-Essential Javascript” option at the same time as using WP Rocket’s “Delay JavaScript Execution” option.

WP Rocket also includes many customizable options, so there may be some combination of settings which can make it incompatible with Jetpack Boost.

If you find that any of Jetpack Boost’s optimizations cause problems on your site when run alongside WP Rocket, it should be safe to turn them off and return your site to its previous state.

Please let us know if you run into any trouble running Jetpack Boost, and we’ll do our best to help you out.

    Hi @thingalon,
Thanks for your reply.I am using AStra theme and have not seen any improvements in page speed score. Although we have disabled wp-rocket also.
What is the best way to improve it (LCP and CLS score)
    Thanks

    Hi @zotezo

Each Boost option is either on or off, there are no additional configuration settings at this point.

What score do you get if you disable all of the Jetpack Boost options?
Then what scores do you get after enabling each option in turn?

    Hi,
    When enabled 45
    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdev1.zotezo.com%2Fin%2Fmedicines%2Fdolo-650-mg-tablet%2F

After disable it is showing rank 77

During enable rank is low and LCP/CLS score is very very high.
    How to fix the issue?
    Thanks,

    Now it is disabled…

    Hi @zotezo,

    Thanks for the info!

Two things I want you to do:

    1. Can you please recheck LCP after compressing your image? You can use a tool like this to do that.

    2. Can you please disable the lazy load and recheck the score? I’d recommend after enabling and disabling the option; please give your site a minimum of five minutes before checking the score.

Let us know what you find!

Hi, I thought this info may be useful to those wondering if JetPack Boost is better than WP-Rocket. After extensive testing, all I can say is WP-Rocket out performed JetPack Boost significantly, in every way I could test. So, after hoping this would be a great addition to my WordPress, not only is it NOT comptible with WP-Rocket (can’t use both at same time), I’m sticking with WP-Rocket and removing JetPack Boost. Boost also took forever to generate critical css – it’s simply no where near as good as Rocket.

Slightly disappointed, but at least I now know – Rocket far superior to JP Boost in all ways.
