• Nice, I really like this plugin. What is on your roadmap for the future?

I’ve given a lot of thought about the sharing of documents in a WP-based intranet setting and generally the excellent WP Document Revisions plugin comes to mind (though that plugin doesn’t have a built-in front-end).

WPDR is definitely suitable for corporate documents and your plugin is perfect for personal- produced document sharing. WPDR takes advantage of a lot things that WP does organically like revision editing and so forth that are great for the corporate environment.

While I can’t see it know or envision how, I’m wondering if there is a way to make your plugin compatible with WPDR, or have the two integrate or at least compliment each other in some way. Between the two plugins, I’m thinking document management powerhouse within WP/BP, but figuring out the details of what and how is something I can’t quite envision yet.

    Hi,

Thanks for your interest in this plugin, in the past i’ve tried to rely on other plugin(s) or integrate with them. This plugin already rely on BuddyPress. More than one is actually very difficult to maintain. So i’m sorry i won’t go in that direction. Also, i won’t deal with post revisions. Let’s keep things simple.

@imath, may I ask you why you aren’t gonna implement post revisions? It seems to me like a doc sharing plugin, post revisions seems like a must do functionality to implement.

Am I wrong in my thinking?

    Renato,

Just spent 3 weeks on building this first version. I need a little break. I’m very concerned the plugin first works fine. Then i’ll see for new features. But honestly, about this one, i don’t think it’s a good idea as BP Docs will soon handle file uploads and post revision in it ??
This plugin’s goal is to share files, not manage files ??

I see! Knowing this now I can understand why and agree with you.

Congrats for the plugin anyway. Great work! =)
