Compatibility with Revisionize Plugin

  • Hi, do you have any plans to make the recipe cards compatible with the Revisionize or Revision Manager TMC plugins?

    Many of us use these plugins to edit the live pages in draft mode. These plugins work by cloning the existing live Post into a separate “revision” post. Once that revision post is updated, it’s then merged with the origin post.

    The problem with WPRM, is that it’s a WPRM Post within a Parent Post; so when the user tries cloning the Parent Post, the WPRM Post doesn’t get cloned. Instead, when editing the Revision, it ends up changing the live WPRM post.

    Right now you’d have to remove the recipe block and insert a new one, which could be a clone then: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/72-clone-recipes

    You’d want this to happen automatically?

    Thanks Brecht. I didn’t think about cloning the recipe. Will give it a try.

    It does make more sense to automatically clone the child (wprm) with the parent, but then you’ll also need to figure out how to merge the child when merging the parent back into the origin post.

    There’s also the permissions issue. A common flow of Revisionise and Revision Manager TMC is to limit the copyrighter’s editing to the revision (cloned parent post). So the editing permissions of the child (wprm) post, ideally will need to be that of the parent.

    Honestly, I don’t know if it’s possible to do this with WPRM, or if it’ll break the existing logic, since WPRM is it’s own content type. I’m just passing a roadblock our developers came across and seeing if it’s in the roadmap. I guess ultimately this will be a decision up to you.
