Compatibility with Gallery/Lightbox plugins?

Does this work with any Gallery/Lightbox plugin or are there known limitations? Would love to have a html5 videoplayer which integrates nicely into one of the major (photo)-gallery plugins. There are dedicated video-galleries out there, but they all have their own videoplayer without full html5 support.
Or should I simply wait till WP 3.6 is out, will that problem (if it actually is) resolve then?
