Compatibility with Enhanced Media Library

    Dan,

    Thank you for this plugin–it appears to be what I’m looking for, however, it does not seem to be compatible with the media categorization plugin I’m using called Enhanced Media Library. I’ve reviewed your recommendation to utilize the Media Library Categories, but would prefer to use EML. In your support forum, I see where you’ve looked into plugin compatibility before, so I would like to request that you look into compatibility with this plugin as well.

    Hi Nick,

    I’m happy to look into EML for compatibility with DG. It may be a week or so before I have time to do so due to paid work commitments, but I’ll do it as soon as I can find a bit of time ??

    I appreciate your willingness to look into this, but I’m happy to report that I’ve discovered the issue. I’ll explain in the hope that it might help someone else:

    First, I tried to utilize the media Library Categories as recommended and was having the same issue with the DG shortcode not recognizing the categories I specified. But I was separating my media categories from my post categories as described in the MLC support forum here.

    Once I realized that the dg category shortcode was pulling Post categories instead of media categories, I realized that all I needed to do was alter the DG shortcode to specify the media category as created by the EML plugin.

    example: [dg media_category=<category>]

    It now works as desired. Your plugin is going to be a big help to me.

    So glad to hear that everything got worked out!

    I’ll work on updating the README to include EML so that others with the same question can easily find how to use the two plugins.
