Compatibility w/ WordPress Password Expiry

I have been using your plugin for a while now and love it, for security reasons I needed the ability to reset/expire passwords and force a user to change it at login so I started using WordPress Password Expiry.

Both work great individually but if I expire a password and the user logs in with their email address it never forces them to change their password. If they login with their username it works fine and they are required to change their password.
I put up a post on the plugin support page but I received no response. Any thoughts on this?
