    Hi Jeremy,

Absolutely…I’d be happy to work with you guys on that. JetPack interferes with a LOT of plugins because of how it changes the comment form functionality of WordPress. I know of some others that have to force the Comments module to be turned off as well. Absolutely. I’ll get in touch with you via your form.

I appreciate you reaching out. You’re welcome!

+1 for this happening! I really like Jetpack comments, but the (free) anti-spam plugin options for comments are limited right now. Getting these two to play nice would be great. Thanks for the great plugin Scott!

    Hey bhoover,

Thanks! You’re very welcome. Jeremy and I opened an email dialogue to try to bridge the gap between the two plugins.

The JetPack team is open to compatibility fixes and from what I understand, they are working on some. Right now JetPack comments module uses an iframe, which bypasses several of WordPress’ hooks in the comment functionality. This effectively prevents many anti-spam plugins from working. They are looking into alternative implementations for this, but it might be a bit. If I have ideas that can help them, I’ll let them know. For now the only way to use both plugins together is to deactivate the comments module in JetPack.

I’ll be sure to post updates if we make further progress or can get this compatibility gap fixed.

Hey guys, any luck on getting jetpack comments to work with wp spamshield? Really could use this config now with all the spam …….

    Hi waynmeyer,

Thanks for asking. No changes to report yet. As far as I know they haven’t changed the coding for how JetPack Comments work yet. This one is going to require the JetPack team re-code it to not use an iframe for comments. Keep an eye on the Known Conflicts list and if you see it come off that list, then that would mean it’s working together.

I just wanted to follow up with everyone here.

We just released version 1.9.2, which now does have compatibility and anti-spam for JetPack Comments, as well as JetPack Contact Forms.
