you can use W3TC, but you’ll have to disable all & any minification (CSS/JS/HTML) in there in order for AO to work.

async js would have little added value if AO can aggregate all JS (it’s deferred by default)

ewww-image-optimizer is entirely different functionality, no conflict, great added value.

    hope this helps,

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I noticed somewhere you were saying that Autoptimize is generating some sort of error with WP Super Cache. So, which caching-plugin do you recommend at this point – with the best possible performance but also works flawlessly with Autoptimize? Hypercache? By the way, are you familiar with Siteground’s Supercacher caching plugin (only the level-1: static cache is free though)?

    Regards.

It’s a bit more complicated then that; if you’re on Apache and you’re running Apache with AllowOverrides none and you have WP Super Cache & Autoptimize, then you might run into HTTP 500 errors. Adapt the Apache config (as advised by WPSC) and you’re good to go.

I use WPSC myself, but HC is great as well, others swear by ZenCache or Cachify or … Your mileage may vary, so do some tests to see which one suits your context best.

No, can’t say that I am, sorry.

Will the WPSC compression (Miscell-Compress pages turned on)cause problems for Autoptimize?

    Regards.

    as WPSC’s settings page states;

Compression is disabled by default because some hosts have problems with compressed files.

    but AO won’t mind ??

    Hi Frank,

    Just one final question.

I think I read somewhere that nothing should be stored in the “/wp-content/cache/” folder because they will get deleted automatically and periodically. Is this correct? Because, I can see quite a number of files and folders already exist there, including – Autoptimize. What to do with them? Please forgive me if I sound too..er.. uninformed. ??

Thanks a lot again for all your replies and help – and for the great plugin of course!!

If the Autoptimize cache is removed, it will simply be rebuilt ??
