• Hi,

there is a compatibility issue with the popular Polylang localization plugin. When activating media translation in Polylang to add individual localization it won’t save the language association. This means it creates two seperate media items that aren’t linked instead of one item with two language strings (the same way it works with posts & pages).

It works normal when deactivating EML – so this seems to be the culprit! Please look into this issue as I love EML otherwise – but we need media localization for SEO optimization.

    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

Hi Ulrich, Peter, and other interested,

Ulrich, thank you very much for you suggestion. It well may be that we will need your help.

At the moment we made some changes to the plugin and it seems to start working with Polylang. We need volunteers to test the changes. I would not recommend to install current beta version to the production website. If someone have a development one, you are most welcome! Please contact me at wpuxsolutions [at] gmail [dot] com in order I was able to provide a copy for testing.

    Best,
    -Nadia

    Hi everyone!

Please feel free to test new version of the Enhanced Media Library with the fix for Polylang on https://github.com/webbistro/enhanced-media-library

Please DO NOT install beta versions to a production site!

    Best,
    -Nadia

p.s. Many thanks to Ulrich for his time and assistance!

3.0.beta2-12 still doesn’t work with Polylang 2.0.7 (after activation of Polylang all images in Media/Library disappear).

Another problem is PHP warnings at top of every page (regardless of Polylang activated or deactivated):

Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /usr/local/apache2/share/www.myhost.ru/data/camera2/wp-content/plugins/enhanced-media-library-3.0.beta2-12/core/taxonomies.php on line 328 Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /usr/local/apache2/share/www.myhost.ru/data/camera2/wp-content/plugins/enhanced-media-library-3.0.beta2-12/core/taxonomies.php on line 315 Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /usr/local/apache2/share/www.myhost.ru/data/camera2/wp-content/plugins/enhanced-media-library-3.0.beta2-12/core/taxonomies.php on line 315 Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /usr/local/apache2/share/www.myhost.ru/data/camera2/wp-content/plugins/enhanced-media-library-3.0.beta2-12/core/taxonomies.php on line 328 Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /usr/local/apache2/share/www.myhost.ru/data/camera2/wp-content/plugins/enhanced-media-library-3.0.beta2-12/core/taxonomies.php on line 328

    Hello @coddy,

Thank you for your time and effort. Warnings will be fixed in the next version, thank you for posting them.

As for Polylang, have you made sure to set media items to the main language after Polylang activation? Settings > Languages > The link in the top message “There are posts, pages, categories or tags without language. You can set them all to the default language.”

    Best,
    -Nadia

    Just had the same Issue.

We worked around it by checking the same categories again after copying from the default language.
    This way polylang worked properly.

Sorry for the poor english and greetings from Switzerland
