A recent update to Nimble Builder caused posts displayed in that page builder’s grid format to stop showing their titles. The developer insisted there was no issue with the plugin. However, after some testing, I found that when Worth the Read is active, the issue occurs. If I deactivate Worth The Read, the issue goes away.

I really like this plugin and also need my posts to show their titles. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Yes, it’s probably the title filter the plugin uses to put the read time after the title. I recommend turning off the read time being auto-placed and instead use the shortcode provided with the theme to place the read time directly in your theme code. Let me know if you need help doing so.

Tested without read time active. Issue continues to exist, thus, making it appear through another method wouldn’t work, since it doesn’t work when it’s set not to show at all. Once a version of Nimble Builder after 1.0.17 is installed, the only thing that lets titles display in Post Grid view is fully disabling Worth the Read.

Is there any way I could view the site with the issue happening so that I could check the console? Or could you set it up on a separate page or site so I can see it happening?

https://press.greenprofitsolutions.com/test-post-grid/ – When Worth the Read is disabled, titles display. Now, you just see the thumbnails.

Thanks, and can you now disable WTR so I can compare what the code looks like without it?

    Disabled.

Thanks. So I don’t see any javascript or otherwise errors. I inspected the code and the element is still there, but the text is gone from within the titles. This is strange indeed, and is likely some deeper compatibility thing between the plugin and theme internals. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bummer there’s no easy fix. Thanks for looking. I’ll raise the question with the Nimble Builder team again. We know exactly when the change occurred; it’s simply a matter of figuring out what that change was.

PS – It happens on different themes, so it’s not the site theme causing the issue. The problem is directly connected to the two plugins being active at the same time.

Please do let me know if you hear back from the Nimble Builder team.

I will. They said they’ll keep an eye on the issue as future versions are developed.
