    Hi,

I’m starting a project to create a company intranet inside WordPress MU.

The idea behind the site is to have a main page (which is the main site) then departments have their own sub sites. There will be about 6 sites in total.

    I have a couple of questions –

    1. Is there any easy to to replicate changes made on the main site, down the structure to the other sites? For example, if I wanted to setup some SEO plugin at the moment I would need to configure it 6 times on each site. Would be nice if I could apply settings for one plugin, throughout the other sites.

    2. Is it possible to setup a default site, with a few default pages, posts, links, etc – then when a new site is created it just copies off this template.

    3. Is there a way to have a collection of images which all the sites can see? As well as add their own but not interfere with the other sites. For example, have a “Default Images” location, which all sites will see, but they can also add their own as normal. Perhaps this could be combined with question two – add default images to a default install.

If anyone else has any experience, or recommendations for an intranet based MU site I would like to hear them ??

    Cheers,
    Rab

yes all your requirements are possible to achive in wordpress.

    1. with a plugin
    2. with a plugin
    3. no. each site’s images are independent. Tho if you’re doing #2, then yes.

Thanks folks, do you happen to have any plugins you would recommend to carry these out?

    Cheers,
    Rab
