Company info gone. Only company website appears.

    Hi, We had a problem with the BD plugin on our site. The directory wasn’t showing. I think because the manual upgrade hadn’t yet been performed. I’m the web developer and my clients were upgrading plugins. After a few attempts the manual upgrade seemed to work, but I checked individual business listings, I saw only the company’s website. Their address and phone were gone.

    I *had* uploaded an old version of the plugin and used that previously and I did see all the company info, but now after the upgrade to the latest version, the company info is gone. Did I do something wrong? And if so, what can I do to get things back like they were. Please help, my client is about to kill me!

    Sorry that you ran into issues here!

    Can you tell me a bit more here?
    – What version of BD did you upgrade from?
    – Are you seeing any other errors, like premium modules that require updates as well?
    – Have you tried a conflict test? Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

    Report back with that and we’ll take it from there. After upgrading to the latest, I wouldn’t recommend downgrading because we make changes to the DB to support the latest version and these aren’t backward-compatible, in general.

    Sorry for the delay. I built the site and found the BD plugin a few years ago. My clients usually do most of the maintenance so I haven’t used the BD plugin for a while.

    Looks like the old version was 3.1.1.

    It’s now 3.6.9.1. I don’t know if I screwed something up by trying to reupload the old version. The old one is there in the plugins page in the WP admin, but not activated. I’m hesitant to remove it.

    The client is adding the missing info manually but I’m sure everything must still be in the database, right?

    I haven’t tried a conflict test yet, but I am not seeing any errors or warnings.

    I just did a conflict check. Disabling all plugins except BD had no effect. Is it possible that something I did caused the contact name and phone number to disappear? The BD is here: https://encinochamber.org/join/business-directory/

    Some listings you’ll see have contact name and phone, but it’s my clients who are entering these manually. IF those pieces of info aren’t showing up, does that mean they’re gone? Just wondering. I just want to keep them happy.
