Commercial sites should never update critical plugins without scrutiny
-
I appreciate our society’s need to “improve” things immediately.
However, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is a solid principle to live by. Especially in plugin/theme updates.
Developers, hopefully, address issues created by updates and offer appropriate fixes in due course. Just be patient.
A massive overhaul as this update is bound to create some serious problems.
I’m just glad FT is back providing updates to this phenomenal plugin. Let’s hope for more incremental patches from here on that minimize the risks.
So if you don’t require this update (most likely you don’t), Wait!
(btw, I applied the update to my hobby/not-for-profit site and after making the changes to my nginx.conf as directed by the plugin things are working swimmingly.)
