• Hi,

I’m using the Effective News Theme for a non-profit I work for, and the comments will not appear at the bottom. I have all the settings clicked to show comments. This has not been an issue in the past and just started after updating WordPress. I’ve contacted the author of the Theme and they said since all the correct boxes were check, it had to be on WordPress’ side. The blog is (https://www.asorblog.org), and I’m wondering how to change it so the comments will appear on the blog posts. So, I’m having three problems that I need to fix as soon as possible.

1.) Comments will not show on any of my blog posts.
2.) Some posts will show the “Leave a Comment” boxes and others will not.
3.) I am not able to moderate any of the comments. When a comment is left, I’m notified but cannot actually view the comment to approve or spam it. The comments page is just blank.

I have checked the .php and discussion settings. Everything is as it should be. I’ve checked the boxes under discussion and in the posts to make sure they say “enable comments.” I’ve updated the themes, plugins, and WordPress. My posts will say I have comments, but not allow anyone to actually view said comment. How can I fix this?

A 4th issue, that isn’t a huge deal, when I’m logged in and go to a post on the blog my top admin bar disappears and I have to go back to the homepage to access my dashboard.

Please advice on how to fix this.

    Thank you,
    Kaitlynn

  • If you temporarily disable all plugins and change to the default WordPress theme, do comments show? I appreciate you may not want to do that but without access to your commercial theme, that’s the debugging baseline from which to start.
