I have some comments that I can’t seem to delete (or manage) from the WordPress admin area. There is no ‘tick box’ to select them an the typical ‘approve’ etc doesn’t show up for them.

One thing I noticed is that the user that created them (a former admin account) has either been deleted, or changed (the user is still an admin, but with different username… I don’t know the history on that). My guess is that this is somehow involved with how they are ‘stuck.’

Can I simply delete them from the database directly from the comments table? Or, do I need to be worried about other dependencies which would cause a problem if not cleaned up? (i.e.: stuff in commentmeta, etc.)
    Thanks!

Just a follow up. I deleted them directly from the database (from comments table), and so far, there have been no problems or repercussions.
