• Hi have read around a bit on this now for sometime and can’t find the exact solution.

When adding a comment on my site, they always work no matter if I am logged in as a user myself or if somebody is posting a comment randomly.

However if a random person submits a comment they are taken to a Error Server Not Found 500 page but the comment is still going through the website fine.

    Any ideas??

    What plugins are you running?

Hi I’ve disabled all my plugins and retried to no avail.

: askimet, all in one seo, contact form, simply exclude, wp page navi

    Most likely culprits

    1) A plugin
    2) Your theme
    3) Your database is sometimes loosing connectivity.

If it’s really random (by which I mean you attempted to post the EXACT same comment with no errors) then it’s more likely #3.

still not solved struggling with this.

It’s not random, it always does the same thing, redirects me as admin to the right page after a comment, but anybody who hasn’t previously commented sent to the 500 page even though the comment does go through wordpress fine and awaits in wordpress/comments.

This is new information ?? Scratch #3.

Turn off ALL your plugins. It sounds like one of them is munging up the way WordPress handles first time comments.
