Comments stopped working

  • Hello,

    I noticed tonight that I haven’t received a comment on my blog in a long time (March 26th to be exact). I never got that many in the past, maybe only 1-2 a week. However, what alerted me to the issue is that I used to get hundreds of spam comments a day (into my Akismet) and I opened it today and there were zero. I’ve been watching for a few hours and none have come in (spam comments, that is). I checked my settings and comments are set ON, both on the ‘discussion’ page, and in the individual posts. I’ve posted about 30 articles since I last received a comment, so I think something is wrong, but I don’t know where to look. Although, maybe it’s just a coincidence… ??

  • I just left a test comment on the Elizabeth Edwards post. It told me its being held for moderation. Hope this is useful.

    Hi stvwlf,

    I did get your test comment (didn’t approve it). It’s weird because we also got a ‘real’ comment last night around the same time as yours. I guess it was just a coincidence that I hadn’t received any in a couple months. I’m still confused about the lack of spam, but I’ll consider that a blessing!
