Comments showing on pages, not posts

  • Hello, and thank you in advance for your help!

    I have had the same issues as this user here: Comments not showing on Posts

    I have tried the same steps as this user because I have the both Ocean and Elementor. These are the steps:

    + Enabling comments from Settings > Discussion.
    + “Allow people to post comments on new articles” is checked
    + Comment must be manually approved is UNchecked
    + Automatically close comments on articles older than X days is UNchecked
    + Making sure the “Allow Comments” in the meta box for every post is checked.
    + Temporarily disabling all plug-ins to check if there’s conflict with the comments sections
    + Tried using another theme.

    All seems set up correctly, and comments are showing on my Pages, however they are not showing up on my Posts. Discussions are set up correctly as instructed by these Mods (and additional research) for both future posts and current posts, and yet the problem persists.

    When I go to the follow up to try and get more info, the trail goes cold: Continuation of topic

    All help would be greatly appreciated. I am self-taught and am out of ideas. I have reached out to the Elementor team already, however they have not really helped much.

    THANK YOU again for the help. My site is a work in progress and I’m currently furloughed so I finally have time to dedicate to building out content for it, after working on teaching myself to build it out for 2 years. I really appreciate all help.

  • Hello,

    You have designed the single post template with the Elementor theme builder. Try to check the Elementor template design again for comment section. Have you reached the Elementor support for it?

    Hi Amit,

    Thank you for your reply. I have reached out to Elementor, and they didn’t have much input which is why I followed up here. They basically just told me to try on a different theme, which I have done with no success. I have built the posts exactly as I have the pages, so I am not certain as to why the comments show on one and not the other.

    I added a “WP Recents Comments” section to my post to try, as you suggested and now it just shows the word “Comments” with no way to add any in a discussion. I have left this change for you to see.

    Hi again. Just heard back from Elementor and they were incredibly unhelpful. The person basically just told me to turn on my Discussions (which I already told them I had) and that it was not their problem, it’s a theme problem. So I’m back at square 1.

    Any help and insight would be incredible, I don’t know what do from this point. Thank you for your help, Internet.
